Jews have the Talmud and Muslims have the hadith.  What do these terms mean, and is there a Christian equivalent?

Both are the interpretations of what the scriptures call for in terms of how someone is supposed to observe God's law.  They would differ from the Torah and the Qur'an as not being divinely revealed but having the authority of respected teachers.  There is not really a Christian equivalent, unless one counts the writings of the Fathers of the church (the so-called "deposit of faith" for Catholics).
