MIDTERM REVIEW

You are now at the halfway point in the course. You should be able to do the following:
(1) symbolize sentences that can be expressed in propositional logic (P's and Q's) or in predicate logic with one-place predicates (Fx's and Gx's);
(2) test for validity using either truth tables and interpretations or consistency trees (or lines);
(3) understand the difference between a premise and a conclusion as well as the difference between valid and invalid arguments;
(4) work with algebraic notation (required for honors credit in the course).

Success in your midterm (assuming you are taking this course for credit) will depend on the following:
--you have copied down and practiced with every example provided;
--you have worked through the drills on your disk;
--you have worked through the additional homework exercises provided through e-mail.
